The 50th anniversary of the founding of the Central Conference of American Rabbis was celebrated tonight with a dinner at the Hotel Mayflower in connection with the organization’s convention. Scheduled speakers were the Rt. Rev. James E. Freeman, Bishop of Washington, and Rabbi Jonah B. Wise. The conference was founded in 1889 in Detroit by 30 rabbis and now has more than 400 members.
Seven rabbis this afternoon participated in a round table discussion on “Ways of Fortifying Religious Life.”
