Washington Lifts Travel Curbs to 3 More Arab Countries; Lebanon Relations Resumed

The State Department lifted today restrictions on travel to Iraq, Jordan, and Yemen — thus restoring travel to all Arab states except Egypt and Syria. Travelers may visit Egypt and Syria only if the visits are “in the interests of the United States.”

U.S. Ambassador Dwight Porter is returning to Beirut in accordance with a decision by Lebanon to resume relations with the United States on an ambassadorial level.
