WASHINGTON POSTPONES DISCUSSION ON SENDING ARMS TO ARABS
A discussion of the question of arms aid for Arab nations which would have been held in executive session this afternoon was postponed as a result of the armed attack which occurred in the chamber of the House of Representatives.
Under Secretary of State Walter Bedell-Smith was slated to meet with leading members of the Senate and House to discuss complaints received by the State Department with respect to proposals for United States military aid to certain Arab countries. When word came that a number of Congressmen were shot, the meeting was postponed until a later date. The new date has not yet been determined.
