The forestry office of the Jewish National Fund today made public a letter from High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope pledging that the Palestine Government “will do everything possible to prevent further acts of wanton destruction and restore peace and order.”
Written in reply to a letter from Mr. Weitz of the forestry office, in which attention was called to the destruction of the Jewish National Fund’s forest at Mishmar ha-Emek, the letter voices the hope that “it may not be long before destruction ceases, planting starts again and the sap may rise in the goodwill tree.”
