SIR ARTHUR VISITED THE CLINIC IN THE COMPANY OF GEOFFREY MACCLAREN, JERUSALEM DISTRICT GOVERNOR, AND JACOB KISSELOV, JEWISH GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL. HE WAS RECEIVED BY PROFESSOR HALBERSTAEDTER AND DR. DOLISCHANSKY, WHO EXPLAINED THE HOSPITAL’S ACHIEVEMENTS IN COMBATING CANCER, MALARIA, CHICKEN CHOLERA AND OTHER DISEASES.
AFTER THEY HAD SHOWN HIM AROUND THE LABORATORIES, THE MEMBERS OF THE HOSPITAL STAFF URGED UPON THE HIGH COMMISSIONER THE NEED OF A NEW PAVED ROAD TO MR. SCOPUS. HE REPLIED IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO BUILD A ROAD AT PRESENT FOR FINANCIAL REASONS.
WORK WAS STARTED NEAR KFAR SABA FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW SETTLEMENT FORTY FAMILIES FROM GERMANY, WHO WILL BE EMPLOYED IN MIXED FARMING.
HIGH COMMISSIONER WAUCHOPE TODAY VISITED THE JEWISH SETTLEMENT OF KFAR VITKEN N FOR THE FIRST TIME. HE ENQUIRED ABOUT THE ECONOMIC SITUATION THERE, THE SIZE OF INDIVIDUAL POST OF LAND, AND ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF IMPORTATION OF FOWL FROM SYRIA.
