Accusing the Palestine administration of having an anti-Jewish attitude, Col. Josiah Wedgewood, Laborite Member of Parliament, today appealed to the newly-formed American Palestine Committee to “step forth for the rescue and salvation of that part of the Old World which has hitherto not experienced either liberation or justice.”
Writing in The Zionist Review, Col. Wedgwood charged that the Palestine administration was preventing formation of a Jewish army and pointed to restrictions on land sales and immigration in Palestine.
He warned “our guilty Colonial Office” that the Jews were no longer alone. He declared: “Freedom versus authority. The people versus tyranny! No one knows this better than the great American democracy. They pay the piper and they will call the tune.”
