More than 5,000 individuals are now being served by the 92nd Street Y. M. H. A., Frank L. Weil, president, reported at the sixty-first annual meeting. About 300 persons heard Mr. Weil’s report at a dinner in the banquet hall of “Y” building and saw him reelected to the presidency of the institution.
Mr. Weil also announced plans for the publication of a recently completed study of progressive education in the program of the community center. “Such a publication,” he said, “would not only contribute to the cause of character building, but would also serve as effective evidence of the cultural leadership of the ‘Y’ in exploring and making available the latest and most useful thinking in the field of education.”
Other officers elected were Simon Gottschall, William Prager, the Rev. Dr. Samuel Schulman and Fred M. Warburg, vice-presidents; Dr. L. L. Watters, treasurer; Eugene H. Paul, recording secretary; F. M. Greenfield, comptroller. and Jack Nadel, executive director.
