Jack D. Weiler, chairman of the United Jewish Appeal’s three-month nationwide campaign to raise $35,000,000 in cash, today outlined a three-point program designed to help communities meet that goal.
Mr. Weiler’s plan calls for: 1. Full scale local cash collection efforts; 2. Secure immediate large-scale bank loans and 3. Seek commitments and payment now of pledges that would ordinarily be solicitated after the first of January. Mr. Weiler said that Youngstown, Ohio and Rochester, N.Y., have already presented checks for $100,000 and $98,000 respectively.
