Leading Personalities Attend Function in His Honor (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
Following the audience granted him by King Albert, during which the King expressed much sympathy for the aims of the Zionist movement, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, President of the World Zionist Organization, started on his mission to enlist leading non-Zionists in Antwerp and Brussels for the extended Jewish Agency, as outlined at the recent New York non-Zionist conference under the chairmanship of Louis Marshall.
At a dinner given here in honor of Dr. Weizmann by Senator Speyer, a leader of the Liberal Party, many prominent men in politics and science were present.
A reception to Dr. Weizmann was held in Brussels at the house of Belgium’s representative to the League of Nations, Gotschalk. Members of the Jewish Consistory of Belgium who were hitherto uninterested in Zionism, including Franz Phillipson, president of the Jewish Colonization Association, attended. A luncheon in honor of Dr. Weizman was also given today by the Belgium Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paul Hymans.
