Establishment of the Philip M. Klutznick chair in developmental biology was celebrated formally here today at the Weizmann Institute of Science, here, at a luncheon honoring Mr. Klutznick and his family, tendered by Meyer Weisgal, president of the Institute. The first incumbent of the chair, it was announced, will be Prof. Michael Feldman, dean of the Institute’s Feinberg Graduate School. He is a famous biologist whose researches have, among others, provided new insights into the growth and development of cells generally and cancer cells in particular.
Among the guests of honor in addition to Mr. Klutznick and his family and Dr. Feldman were United States Ambassador Walworht Barbour; Adlain Stevenson, III; and the famous American cartoonist, Bill Maudlin.
