The gross national produce rose on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip during the past year according to figures released today by the Central Bureau of Statistics. On the West Bank the average GNP per capita increased by 18-19 percent over 1971, and in the Gaza Strip and northern Sinai the increases were 16 and 10 percent respectively.
According to the report, 12 percent of the West Bank’s 18 percent rise was attributable to residents working in Israel proper while seven percent was due to local economic expansion. In the Gaza Strip the figures were four percent from work in Israel and nine percent from local growth.
