The Ku Klux Klan held a state convention at the hall of the International Order of Good Temperance here yesterday to lay plans for mobilization of former Klansmen throughout the state of Washington.
About 150 persons attended the meeting, which was presided over by J. Frank Adams, newly appointed Grand Dragon.
“Fight Communists!” is the slogan the Klan is using as membership bait. Its leaders hope for a return to the “good old days” of a decade ago, when the hooded order had 40,000 members in this state.
Jews and Catholics are invited to join the Klan’s ranks—a departure from the organization’s original principles—but at the same time they are linked with a secret plot “to capture the United States.”
