West German manufacturers of a doll that was sold in France under the name of “The Jew,” had been selling this doll for several years in Germany under the name “Voodoo Joe,” informed sources said here Sunday. The manufacturers, Heinze and Co. did not name the doll “The Jew.” This name was given to the doll by the director of the French distribution company, Verrier-Patrick of Villeurbanne in the Rhone region.’ He told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he changed the name of the doll because he believed it would have a higher commercial value.
