Threats that Arabs will join hands with the Russians to oppose the “pro-Jewish” policy of America and Great Britain are not taken very seriously by the western powers, the Christian Science Monitor declared yesterday in a special article on Communism and the Middle East.
The article added that statements to this effect by prominent Egyptian and Syrian statesmen during the past few months are viewed as attempts to win greater concessions from the West. There is “every reason to believe that Arab leaders, members of the ruling families, will not risk their own social and economic position by dealing with the revolutionary forces in the world,” the Monitor stated.
