Police here were investigating today the desecration of Temple Israel, where a large swastika was painted in red on one of the walls of the synagogue building. A smaller swastika was also scratched on the mail box in front of the synagogue.
A similar desecration had also taken place some time earlier at a local Lutheran church a few blocks from the synagogue where the main door of the church was marked with a swastika. Police believe both desecrations to be the work of the same culprits.
