Many arrests were made yesterday in the University cities of Warsaw, Cracow, Vilna and Posen where excesses were attempted or carried out in connection with the first anniversary of the death of Stanislas Waclawski, Christian student killed during the anti-Semitic excesses in Vilna last November.

More than one hundred anti-Semitic students were arrested in Warsaw for participating in anti-Jewish inciting demonstrations throughout the city.

Before the student march began a memorial service for Waclawski was held. The meeting passed without incident, thanks to the precautionary measures taken by the police.

A memorial tablet for Waclawski was placed on the front wall of the Polish Students House. The tablet carries the inscription : “Waclawski was stoned in the fight to preserve the Polish character of the universities.”

The marchers carried black flags and portraits of Waclawski. They were dispersed by the police who made numerous arrests.

Jewish stores and residences shattered last night by anti-Semitic National Democratic students marking the first anniversary of the death of Stanislas Waclawski, Christian student killed during the anti-Semitic excesses in Vilna last year.

Several of the attackers were arrested and will be held for trial.
