William B. Ziff, former president of the Zionist-Organization of America and author of several books including “The Rape of Palestine, ” died here last night after a prolonged illness. He was 55 years old.
Born in Chicago, he planned to be a portrait, painter, but at the age of 21 he was making $75,000 a year with an advertising agency which he had founded. Later, he turned to publishing and organized the Ziff-Davis Publishing Company, which specialized in the publication of technical magazines in the field of aviation, radio and photography, During World War I, Mr. Ziff was an aviator in the U. S. Army.
