The State Attorney General’s Office has appealed to the Indiana Supreme Court from a county court order that freed William Dudley Pelley, former leader of the Silver Shirts. The action was taken on behalf of the state of North Carolina which is attempting to extradite Pelley to serve a suspended sentence in connection with a stock fraud.

The former head of the fascist-like organization has thus far successfully resisted extradition. He was paroled from the Federal Penitentiary at Terre Haute, Ind., Feb. 4, 1950, after serving eight years of a term imposed for sedition.
