Asserting that the Y. M. and Y. W. H. A. can serve the community only when it has a completed membership enrollment and urging workers to complete the goal of 500 additional “Y” members, David Snellenburg last night opened the pre-campaign meeting of the captains and workers in the Y. M. and Y. W. C. A. building. Mrs. Louis Topkis, associate chairman with Mrs. Harry Braunstein and J. M. Lazarus also presented encouraging messages.
The “Y” membership drive will formally open on Monday morning with more than 100 young men and women under the direction of a dozen team captains canvassing the city. Joseph Bowers, representing the Jewish Welfare Board, is in general charge of the campaign.
