Jewish students at Wilno University launched a hunger-strike today in protest against what they called the indifference of the university authorities to anti-Semitic outbreaks.
At nine o’clock tonight several hundred students locked themselves up in the Students’ Union home for a 24-hour strike, cutting off electric power and halting the water supply.
They announced they definitely would not accept the rector’s suggestion that Jewish students occupy the left side of lecture rooms.
