With the goal set at $31,650, the annual campaign of the United Jewish Welfare Fund of Oakland will start May 3 and continue to May 12. The sum derived will go toward the support during 1929 of more than 60 American. European and Palestinian organizations.
Prominent Jewish men and women of Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, Richmond, Hayward and San Leandro are rallying to the support of the drive. A. S. Lavenson is campaign chairman.

The sixty-sixth annual session of District Grand Lodge No. 4 of the B’nai B’rith will open in Oakland June 21, it was announced here.
The convention will bring to Oakand delegates from all the lodges in California, Oregon, Washington. British Columbia, Utah, Montana, Nevada and Arizona.
Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin of Los Angeles, grand president of the district, will preside over the sessions. George M. Lipman of San Francisco, first grand vice-president, will succeed to the highest office in the district.
