The Governing Council of the World Jewish Congress concluded its meeting here today after resolving to establish an advisory body on the Third World. One of its purposes will be to resist and counter Arab propaganda against Jews and Israel in the same manner that anti-Semitism in its old form is resisted and countered in European and American countries.

Marcus Einfeld, head of the Afro-Asian department of the WJC, told the meeting: “We must give this part of the world at least a basic understanding of the Jewish people. As of now, there are very few in Asia who know anything about the Jewish past, the Jewish faith, and the upbuilding of the Jewish State. At the same time, these countries are exposed both to Communist and Arab propaganda. Our activities are conducted from people to people. We are not a government.”

Saul Eisenberg, a businessman in Japan, will serve as chairman of the advisory body on the Third World. Harold Lever, Labor MP and a former minister, and David Marshall, former Chief Minister of Singapore, will also serve on the body.
