Participation of women in Aliyoth, the reading of the weekly Bible portion, will be introduced in Temple Beth-El. Reform congregation of this city, Rabbi Isidor B. Hoffman announced.

“Some persons object to the new, because it is new,” he declared. “But the Jewish laws are not static. At one time women said the Kaddish. Today it is unheard of except in rare cases.” The Rabbi announced that the innovation will be brought about in Temple Beth-El soon.
