Harry L. Greenberg of Long Beach, L. I., has donated $15,000 to the American Jewish Physicians’ Committee with the request that $10,000 go toward the building fund of the Hadassah-University Hospital in Jerusalem. The gift will be used for a children’s ward to be named after the donor’s grandson, Frederic G. Greenberg. The donor’s daughter-in-law, Mrs. David Greenberg, is a national vice-president of Hadassah.
REPORT TO PARIS
A report of the legislative activities of the National Council of Jewish Women will be sent to the International Council of Women meeting in Paris on July 2, by request of the latter organization’s American branch. Among the legislative projects covered will be the work of the council for peace and disarmament, including social legislation it has sponsored, such as measures benefitting the workers and the unemployed, and its activities in behalf of birth control.
WOMEN LAUNCH APPEAL
The Women’s Division of the United Jewish Appeal launched its $200,000 campaign at a tea in the home of its chairman, Mrs. Roger W. Straus last Thursday. Representatives of more than 150 women’s organizations in the Metropolitan area attended the function, at which were outlined the plans and purposes of the United Jewish Appeal drive.
HADASSAH BUDS FESTIVAL
The Hadassah Buds will close their season this afternoon with a spring festival at the Flatbush Jewish Center, the proceeds of which will go towards the settlement of German Jewish refugee children in Palestine. The program will include a Palestinian musicale, several playlets and a tribute in tableaux to Herzl. Mrs. B.P. Seidelman, leader of the Mapleton section of the Buds, is in charge of arrangements.
