Leaders of the Central Committee of liberated Jews in Germany tonight paid tribute to the work of Ort in the displaced persons camps in Germany.
Speaking at an American Ort Federation dinner attended by Ort leaders from various countries, Dr. Boris Pliskin, Samuel Shlomovitz and Norbert Wollheim described activities in Ort schools and workshops in the U.S., British and French zones. Dr. Pliskin reported more than 4,000 persons are now being trained by Ort in the camps. Other speakers included George Backer, president, and Louis B. Boudin, board chairman, American Ort Federation and Chief Rabbi Francis Havesi of Budapest.
