A decision to form an international supreme council-of Bessarabia Jews to coordinate the activities of former Bessarabian inhabitants in is countries and to direct their efforts in behalf of Israel was taken here today.
The move came at the concluding session of a conference of representatives of fraternal organizations of a quarter of a million Bessarabian Jews scattered throughout the world. The largest number are now citizens of the United States.Some 135 delegates turned out for the parley.
Additional projects adopted at the concluding session included the erection of a memo- rial to Bessarabian Jews martyred during World War II and the publication of a special volume of the Jewish Encyclopedia devoted to Bessarabian Jews.
