The expulsion from Brazil of Herbert Cukars, leader of the Nazi Party in Latvia during the Hitler regime who was one of the persons directing the mass extermination of Jews in the Riga ghetto, was asked today by the World Jewish Congress in a letter addressed to the Brazilian Ambassador in Washington. The letter emphasized that the W.J.C. is in possession of evidence that Cukars is guilty of annihilating Jews. The W.J.C. also intervened with the Ambassador in behalf of three Brazilian Jews who were arrested for an alleged attack on the business premises of Cukars.
