World Jewry has been deeply moved by the action of the League of Nations in taking up the question of the Jews of Germany, Dr. Leo Motzkin, chairman of the Committee of Jewish Delegations, who presented the petitions to the League which resulted in action by the League Council, declared today in a nation-wide broadcast here.

“The addresses of the statesmen of the world brought joy to the hearts of the Jews who awaited with trepidation and hope the League’s verdict against the inhuman and dangerous wave of anti-Semitic reaction”, Dr. Motzkin declared. “The spirit of noble humanitarianism prevailed in their speeches, particularly those of the French, Spanish and Polish speakers.

“The Jewish people remain true to the spirit of the Bible and the traditions of the prophets”, he declared. “They are satisfied that the League of Nations, in the midst of this crisis, has undertaken to protect the oppressed Jews in the name of peace, justice and brotherhood.”
