The Jewish Labor Committee is sponsoring a World Labor Athletic Carnival in New York August 15 and 16 open to all amateur athletes “regardless of race, creed, color or political affiliations,” it was announced today by Charles L. Ornstein, chairman of the committee for the games.
Other members of the committee, which is still being organized, are Jeremiah T. Mahoney, former president of the Amateur Athletic Union, Daniel J. Ferris, secretary-treasurer of the A.A.U. and other sports leaders.
The Metropolitan A.A.U. has officially sanctioned the games, which will be held in the Municipal Stadiu, Randall’s Island.
