Leon Gellman, president of the American Mizrachi Organization, was last night named chairman of the new central Committee of the World Mizrachi Organization.
The session, which wound up the 17th world conference of the Orthodox Zionist group, also named Israeli Minister of Religion Judah L. Maimon, Minister of the Interior and Immigration Moshe Shapira and Rabbi Wolf Gold as members of a praesidium of the world organization.
The 12 members of the body were divided equally among the Mizrachi and Poale Mizrachi wings of the organization. Beside the chairman and the members of the praesidium, the members of the central committee are: Rabbis I.M. Kowalski, Abraham Cohen and Samuel Sirkis, Mizrachi; Rabbis Abraham Neufeld, David Intriligator, Isaiah Bernstein, M. Chazani and I. Kestenbaum, Laborites.
