Israeli Ambassador to Denmark, Moshe Leshem, and leaders of the Danish Jewish community Wednesday commemorated the 30th anniversary of the saving of Danish Jews from Nazi-occupied Denmark. On Oct. 3, 1943, 6000 Danish Jews were transferred by the Danish underground from Denmark to neutral Sweden. The ceremony was held at the “Ryvang” memorial park for war victims in Copenhagen.
