Defense Minister Shimon Peres, in a visit Tuesday to Israeli military installations in the Sinai, revealed that the first area to be evacuated by the army under the interim agreement is Ras Sudar in the northern part of the Gulf of Suez. This area includes the Abu Rodeis Oilfields, Peres said it will be evacuated by Sept. 20, the date when Egyptian oil workers are scheduled to arrive. The Defense Minister also said that by the time Israel completes the entire arduous withdrawal task the new Israeli defense line will be ready. He said this line will not require any more men than manned the line being evacuated.
