Fifty ORT delegates from various countries today attended an ORT luncheon here, presided over by Judge Leon Meiss, French Jewish leader. Samuel Bronfman of Canada spoke of his experiences with Canadians who had been trained by the ORT, while S. Adler-Rudel described the ORT program in Israel. Dr. David Lvovitch, vice-president of the World ORT Union, outlined the organization’s program for the coming year and reported that a budget of $6,500,000 would be needed for 1949.
