Endorse Jewish Agency for Palestine at Sessions (Jewish ##)

Samuel Druck of Scranton, was elected president of the Pennsylvania Federation on the Y. M. H. A. and Y. W. H. A., at the annual convention held here on Labor Day. Mr. Herman Rockmaker of Allentown, Pa., was elected chairman of the Executive Council.

Nearly 1,000 delegates from all parts of Pennsylvania attended the convention which opened Saturday evening and continued through Monday. Dr. George T. Ettinger, Dean of Muhlenberg College, was the speaker at the luncheon on Sunday.

At the Labor Day sessions, the following papers were read: “What Constitutes Good Administration,” by Herman Passamanec, Pittsburgh; “What Part Can the Jewish Community Center Play?” by Paul Goldblatt, executive director of the Jewish Community Center at Harrisburg; report of Pennsylvania Y. M. H. A. activities by Isadore Abelson, field secretary.

Other officers elected were as follows: Vice-presidents, Meyer Katz, Mt. Carmel; Louis Rosenblum, Hazelton; Hyman Lonstein, Bethlehem; Martha Schmidt, Altoona, and Esther Ginsberg, West Chester; Executive Board, Milton Kolansky, Carbondale; A. B Jaffe, Easton; Dr. William Sax, Harrisburg; Mrs. Israel Abramovitz, Norristown; David Markowitz, Dickson City; Mrs. I. Cohen, Allentown, and Sydney Kauffman, West Chester.
