Yashayahu Klinov, a noted newspaperman, died here today at the age of 73 after a long illness.
Born in Golovesnk, Russia, he began work as a journalist at an early age, writing for Yiddish, Hebrew and Russian periodicals. After the Russian revolution, he went to Berlin where he worked as a correspondent of the Morgen Journal of New York while serving as a correspondent for the Warsaw Hajnt. He also was co-editor of the Russian Zionist weekly Razswyet.
He came to Israel in 1933 and became managing editor of the daily newspaper, Haaretz. In 1939 he became head of the Jewish Agency Information Department. With the establishment of the State he headed the information media services of the Interior Ministry. He is survived by his widow and two married daughters.
