Nazi treatment of Jews was denounced as “cowardly and stupid” by Dr. Ethan Colton, world traveler and lecturer, in an address here before the Rotary club.
Dr. Colton, who has travelled in Germany annually for the past thirteen years, was brought to Chattanooga under the auspices of the Y.M.C.A., and made a number of local talks. Speaking on the subject of “Where Is Germany Going and Why?” he predicted that if Hitler fails and the communists thrust out for power. Germany will pitch into a cataclysm that will pale anything that has happered in the past.
The German people, Dr. Colton said, has been led to believe there was a Jewish problem, but “what ever basis there was for it has been exaggerated and distorted.
“It was charged that the Jews were not good Germans,” he said “I could find no no besis for that.
