Yaacov Dori, president of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, today submitted his resignation to the institution’s board of governors, on grounds of health. He is currently undergoing treatment abroad.
Gen. Dori, who served as Chief of Staff of the Israeli armed forces from 1948 to 1950, was named president of the Technion in 1951. The Technionboard of governors announced that it would attempt to persuade Gen. Dori to reverse his decision to resign.
