The Connecticut General Assembly was asked yesterday to approve proposed legislation that would eliminate discrimination in the selection of students to be admitted to Connecticut colleges and universities.

The request was made in a letter signed by 18 members of the faculty of the Yale University Law School. The letter pointed out that fair educational practices acts had been approved in New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
