The Yad Vashem exhibition detailing the destruction of the 6, 000, 000 Jewish victims of the Hitler holocaust, modeled after the Memorial Museum in Jerusalem, will be on display at the Jewish Museum in New York for six weeks, starting December 20.
Alexander Gorani, Yad Vashem representative in the United States, said that at the end of the showing here, the exhibit will be taken to Los Angeles with showings in other United States and Canadian cities to follow. A committee of prominent leaders representing a large number of major Jewish organizations has been formed to help organize this exhibition and to send it on tour to the larger Jewish communities in the United States and Canada.
“The purpose of this exhibition,” Mr. Gorani said, “is to remind American Jewry of the Nazi holocaust which is responsible for the death of six million Jewish men, women and children and the destruction of their way of life and to bring to the attention of the American Jewish community the work that Yad Vashem is doing to perpetuate the remembrance of the perished martyrs and heroes.”
