Yasser Arafat said Israel must withdraw from the entire West Bank, Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem. The Palestinian leader said he remains committed to peace but said the Jewish state must leave territories the Palestinians claim, back “to the June 4, 1967 borders.” Arafat gave his speech on the 13th anniversary of a never-implemented declaration of Palestinian independence.
