Yasser Arafat told legislators in South Africa that Israel’s refusal to implement peace accords with the Palestinians could open the “door wide for the return” of anarchy and war. The Palestinian leader, who is on an official visit to South Africa, also told a joint session of the nation’s Parliament that there could be no peace in the Middle East if the Palestinian people did not have control over Jerusalem.
