Thousands of well-wishers crowded into Festival Hall Tuesday night to greet Yehudi Menuhin on his 50th birthday. The noted American Jewish violinist performed several concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with the participation of his sisters, Hepzibah and Yaltah, and his son Jeremy, 14. Ambassadors, political figures, noted conductors, soloists and other musicians were in the audience in testimony to the violinist’s status as a musician and one of the leading personalities of the time.
