Professor Albert Einstein received the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Yeshiva College, Amsterdam avenue and 186th street, at its formal opening exercises yesterday afternoon.
Among those who spoke in tribute to him were Governor Herbert H. Lehman, who received a degree from the college at similar exercises last year, and Dr. Bernard Revel, president of the Yeshiva faculty, who conferred the degree.
Governor Lehman, addressing the incoming students, said in part:
“Let me bid you to devote yourselves to your allotted tasks to serve your God and your community and to bring credit to Yeshiva College and our people….
