Yeshiva College Graduates 46; India to Get First Rabbi

Yeshiva College today awarded 46 degrees at its seventh annual commencement exercises before an audience of 1,500. Among the graduates is Elias Levi, of Rangoon, who, after his ordination, will become the only rabbi of India. Ten scholarships for Jewish students from Germany were announced. Dr. Bernard Revel, president of the college, delivered the commencement address. Guest speaker was Dr. Paul Klapper, president of Queens College, who was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters. Candidates for degrees were presented by Prof. Leon Jung. Rabbi Jacob Hoffman, former Chief Rabbi of Frankfort-am-Main, delivered the invocation.
