Yeshiva College, the only higher institution of liberal arts and sciences under Jewish auspices, graduated forty-seven students today at its sixth annual commencement.
Mark Eisner, chairman of the New York City Board of Higher Education, guest speaker, told the graduates that “the poverty of Jewish spirit on the American continent cries out” for the leadership they have been equipped to give. “They mean more to us as Jews, than the thousands of Jewish graduates from purely secular colleges all over the country,” he said.
Samuel Levy, Borough President of Manhattan and chairman of the Yeshiva College Council, and Dr. Bernard Revel, president of the college, were also speakers.
