A gigantic effort to arouse the Jews of New York to fulfill their duty towards higher Jewish education, as viewed and expounded by the Yeshiva College, representing Orthodox Judaism in the United States, will be made beginning April 15 with the inaugurating of a city-wide membership campaign in behalf of the Yeshiva College of America.

Elaborate plans for the campaign have been laid. Ten thousand members, who will be asked to subscribe on an annal basis at least $10 each towards the maintenance fund of the Yeshiva College will be sought. A great army of volunteers has been mustered for the purpose.

The Young Israel has undertaken the task of conducting the city-wide campaign, Harris L. Selig, executive director of the Yeshiva College and leader of the campaign, announced. One thousand young men and women, members of Young Israel, have been organized into 100 teams, which will conduct a house-to-house canvass in the membership drive.

For the purpose of the campaign, which will start April 15 and will last until May 4, the Greater City has been divided nito nine sections. The local synagogues of the Young Israel organization, twenty-two in number, will serve as the local headquarters for the campaign in the respective sections.

These steps have been determined upon as the result of a number of meetings and conferences called by the Council of Young Israel during the past month. A great organization has been completed with the cooperation of Mr. Selig and the leaders of the Young Israel movement.
