Yeshiva University conferred 266 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its 27th annual commencement exercises today, including degrees to the first graduating class of 26 women seniors of the University’s Stern College for Women, the nation’s only liberal arts college for girls under Jewish auspices.
Dr. Samuel Belkin, University president, conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws on Nelson A. Rockefeller and Max J. Etra, chairman of the university board of trustees; and an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters on Dr. Joseph Kaplan, chairman of the U.S. National Committee for the International Geophysical Year.
