Yeshiva University will spend a record total of $744,907 during the 1956-57 academic year to provide scholarship aid for 83 percent of its student body, Dr. Samuel Belkin, president, announced today. The 2,660 students are receiving tuition, dormitory and maintenance scholarships.
The scholarships are being given to residents of 25 states, the District of Columbia and 18 foreign countries. The largest blocs of foreign students receiving aid come from Israel and Canada. Other foreign countries included are: Ireland, Morocco, Switzerland, Venezuela, Nicaragua, South Africa, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Iran, France, Denmark, Ethiopia, Belgium, Romania and England.
