Yiddish enthusiasts from Eastern Europe spent two weeks this month in Kiev, Ukraine, taking classes on the Yiddish language and literature. The 15th annual summer school on Yiddish and Yiddishkeit in Eastern Europe was aimed at popularizing Yiddish in the region’s Jewish communities, the organizers said. Classes were taught by teachers from Israel, France and Ukraine.
