Anti-Jewish attacks occurred in the streets of Lodz today and resulted in the arrests of many young members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic party.
At the same time, the authorities today dissolved the National Socialist party in Wilno on a charge of engaging in criminal activities.
The anti-Jewish attacks in Lodz were concentrated chiefly in Andrzeja, Lipowa and Poralewska streets. The anti-Semitic youths assaulted Jewish passersby, causing a panic among the Jewish population.
The police, who arrived in time to check the attacks, surrounded the streets and arrested the hooligans in large numbers. The attacks were organized and planned in advance as part of the anti-Jewish drive which the anti-Semitic National Democratic party in Lodz has started, after failing to force the municipality to dismiss all Jews from municipal institutions.
